Sitris launches assistive speech service in the US and Ireland

March 1^st 2007, Irish technology company, Sentient launched Release 1 of it’s unique web based service to enable speech impaired people make standard phone calls to fixed or cell phones. The Sitris automated relay service lets callers click or type what they want to say through a simple-to-use interface and have that instantly translated into spoken words and sentences over the phone.

Sitris uses state of the art text to speech engines to get as close to natural speech as possible, the voice quality is amazing. The phone is a tough environment for people with speech difficulties so we designed the interface for speed with a minimum dependency on the key board.
