Speak into the call

Once a call is established use the Call Tab to access the Talk Panel, stored phrases and chat log.

Using the Talk Panel

Augmentative Communication Device

By typing text in the talk box and hitting return or clicking the Phone Via Internet button, the audio will be immediately spoken into the telephone call.

You can stop the play back during the call but clicking on the Augmentative Alternative Communication button.

Using Your Phrases to Speak

To have a flowing natural conversation, it is a good idea to try to anticipate the phrases you are going to need e.g., standard stuff like the greeting, what your name is or who you want to speak with, and a prepared message in case you get voice mail. You can also set up phrases you are likely to need for a chat with your bank or to order a pizza!

To speak, just click on the required phrase and it will be spoken into the call.

If you scroll to find a particular phrase category and want to jump back to the start position just click the Assistive Technology key

If you need to edit an existing phrase while on a call, right click on the phrase and select ‘Edit’ from the drop down menu. This will insert the selected phrase into the talk box where you can edit and modify or highlight the portion of the text you want to use. Right click again and choose ‘play selected text’ from the drop down menu.

The phrase in the 1st three locations on the phrases tab will be showing on the call tab. If you need a phrase category that is not visible use the scroll keys to access the required category. In the Phrases Tab you can arrange the categories you want to appear in the 1st three positions when on the Call Tab.

Using the Presets

It is quicker to click on the standard responses rather than type, Yes, No Thanks etc. Use the preset buttons to enter these words

Using the Chat Log

Each spoken phrase is listed in the chat log, To repeat a spoken phrase, click on the bar above the phrase. When repeating a selection of text from the chat log, highlight the required text, right click on the highlighted text and select ‘play selected text’ from the drop down menu.

Assisted Living

Spelling out a name or number in the chat log can be very useful. Just highlight the required text, right click on the highlighted text and select ‘spell the selected text’ from the drop down menu.
